Omni-Science

Brick by Brick, Humber Street and Hessle Road in Hull (2019)

Director

I have been directing theatre since 2014 and as a director, I am fascinated by live performance’s ability to transform public spaces. You might happen upon my work when you are out exploring your local area or doing your weekly shop. You might also find it housed in a theatre or your local community centre.

I am also always exploring different ways of integrating technology into my work. I have directed shows that have featured interactive live stream video, playing space invaders with a banana and, in my latest research project, I am learning how to start implementing augmented and virtual realities into my work. I am keen to find new ways that audiences can interact with the live medium.

I have also worked alongside events (Hanse International, Lord Mayors Parade) to help deliver character-focused experiences as part of a wider programme. and I have facilitated workshops for theatre companies, schools and community groups.

I always approach projects with enthusiasm and care whilst prioritising the welfare of the teams that I work with. If you need a director or facilitator for your upcoming project, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!

Where Did I Go? (2024)

Where Did I Go? is about a brilliant and highly logical scientist, who must confront the dark forces that are now haunting her, after discovering she is pregnant. This modern ghost story interrogates what it really costs to become a mother, and how sometimes there is no escape from the darkness that wants to possess you.

It will be 7 years between the triple trawler tragedy, 11 years before the second Cod War and 15 years before the fishing industry collapses in on itself all together.

Virtual Horizons (2023)

Virtual Horizons combines virtual reality and live theatre to tell a climate story of hope and resilience.

Audiences experience the first part of the show in a virtual reality headset. During this they are transported to Hull in 2040 and, after taking their headsets off, they meet Margery who needs their help preparing for an incoming large scale flood event.

Audiences are invited to get involved in the performance. Through facilitated interaction, audiences help Margery by moving FloodSax, preparing flood toolkits and planting wildflowers which can then be taken home.

Virtual Horizons combines technology, liveness and hope to build a powerful community response to climate change.
